Mummy friendly summer outfits

Here are four practical and affordable summer outfits from high street brands that I’ve enjoyed this season. They are inexpensive and are realistic to my needs as a mum. So no super short outfits since I am constantly bending over to pick up my son or to play with him. Definitely no impractical heel choices! When it comes to shoes, flat sandals or box heels have been my go-to! I don’t always wear bags since I usually just fit everything in my nappy bag and find it hard trying to juggle two bags at once, but If I do take one, these days I will go for a cross body kind or back pack style so that my hands are free (If you have kids I don’t need to do any explaining here!)

The first outfit was one that I sported for work. Sunglasses and camisole top are from Primark, shorts are from Stradivarius and so are the shoes. I am not very big on jewellery, I will never wear a lot and I gave up on buying loads of costume jewellery that never makes it to the next year. So I have decided to stick to more dainty, meaningful pieces. Both my locket and earrings are from Pavilion Jewellers.

This outfit has to be one of my favourites. It’s light and perfect for the hot Mediterranean weather. We had decided on visiting the Aquarium on this day and then went to Valetta to check out the armoury at the palace. Both the Camisole and shorts are from Primark and the gold, flat sandals are from New Look.

Here we took our two year old, Leo to Esplora, the science centre in Kalkara. The top is from Primark and the shorts are from Stradivarius. The bag is also from Primark and has turned out to be such a practical piece; leaving my hands free for more mummy related duties. The sandals (which I have been living in at this point) are from New Look.

We visited Mdina here for lunch and a stroll around the winding, shaded streets it’s famous for. I wore an off the shoulder top (which is actually a dress tucked in) from Lipsy London and the shorts from Stradivarius. Gold-hooped earrings are from Peacocks and the cross over bag is from Firetrap. Sunglasses are from Lipsy London and sandals are from New Look.
